Antique 1920s Noritake Hand-Painted Scenic Porcelain Serving Bowl

Antique 1920s Noritake Hand-Painted Scenic Porcelain Serving Bowl

A beautiful early Noritake porcelain serving bowl featuring a hand-painted pastoral landscape in wonderfully atmospheric shades of amber, olive green, brown and soft yellow. A small cottage, trees, water and two birds create an almost miniature landscape painting across the interior.

The shape is especially attractive: a deeply scalloped rim flows into pierced openwork handles, finished with fine brown/gold detailing and delicate beading around the edge. The warm golden ground gives it an aged, romantic quality that would work beautifully in an English-inspired, Grandmillennial or collected traditional interior.

Marked on the underside with the green Noritake “M” wreath / Hand Painted / Made in Japan backstamp.
